I do miss the days of old aqua design and whatnot.
Honestly probably my favorite in terms of design language even today.

Like not to discount anything new. But having realistic textures and just objects on your computer just felt really nice! I know everyone eventually got sick of it at the end of the day.
But like come; on man! Was it really worth it to give that all up for flat out there colors?

Instead of textures on the internet and creative and unique designs on cartoon network and nick.com or just the entire Disney Xtreme Digital free anime streaming site that looked like an entirely different operating system. To the weird forums and flash sites out there like nerve.com and twitter being the last site at the time outside of reddit to support custom CSS which has now been replaced and largely forgotten about and abandoned. We got flat shapes and customizable profiles and banners only! Now we just have 6 websites that took over the entire Internet while your operating system got flatter and more boring overtime.

Like legitimately the fuck happened? I used to be greeted with cool looking textures and aqua designs to just delicious fucking buttons that I wanted to fucking eat on the internet. I just miss it you know? Like there was just something like playing golf in your web browser on newgrounds and just having it be textured and tasty, which mind you can still do today via ruffle which is built right into the site now.
Its just I miss the old Internet; we are probably never going to get it back.
I guess we are going to have to live that huh?
